40S3 yarn blended with 50% pre-oxidized fiber and 50% para-aramid has the following advantages:
- The limiting oxygen index of the pre-oxidized fiber is greater than 45%, with excellent thermal stability. The fiber does not melt, soften or shrink during combustion, and there is no droplet, which is a quasi-non-flammable product. The limiting oxygen index of para-aramid fiber is 28-30. After blending, the overall flame retardant performance can be improved, so that the yarn can be better used in fields with high fire protection requirements, such as firefighting suits, fireproof gloves, etc.
- The strength of pre-oxidized fiber itself is relatively low, but para-aramid fiber has high strength. Its breaking strength is 5 times that of steel wire and twice that of nylon, polyester fiber and glass fiber. After blending, it can make up for the shortcomings of pre-oxidized fiber, so that the yarn strength is improved and more durable.
- Para-aramid fiber has good wear resistance. After blending with pre-oxidized fiber, it can improve the poor wear resistance of pre-oxidized fiber, improve the wear resistance of yarn and extend the service life.
- Both pre-oxidized fiber and para-aramid fiber have good thermal stability. Pre-oxidized fiber has stable performance in high temperature environment. After being placed in dry hot air at 180℃ for 48 hours, the strength retention rate of para-aramid fiber is 84%, the decomposition temperature is about 560℃, and the glass transition temperature is above 300℃. The blended yarn can maintain good performance in high temperature environment and can be used in high temperature working environment.
- Pre-oxidized fiber has suitable textile processing performance. The fabric is light, soft and has good water absorption. After blending, the fabric made of yarn can be more comfortable to wear without stuffiness.
- Pre-oxidized fiber has poor spinnability, but after blending with para-aramid, the spinnability is improved, and the problems of difficult sliver formation, bulky and low strength sliver, and high breakage rate during spinning are alleviated, which improves production efficiency and yarn quality.
