Flame-retardant fabrics refer to fabrics whose fibers have flame-retardant properties. Their characteristics and main uses are as follows:

Features

- Good flame retardancy: Even if ignited by open flames, they can automatically extinguish in a short time. For example, flame-retardant fabrics made of materials such as aramid and pre-oxidized fiber fabrics will burn when exposed to fire but will extinguish immediately when away from the fire, which can effectively block combustion and prevent the spread of fire.

- Strong thermal stability: In high temperature environments, they can still maintain good performance and will not quickly lose their flame-retardant effect due to temperature increases. For example, aramid fibers can still maintain their chemical structure stability at higher temperatures and play a flame-retardant role.

- High safety: No melting or dripping will occur during combustion, which avoids burns to human skin caused by molten droplets and reduces the risk of secondary injuries. For example, Protex flame-retardant fibers do not melt or drip after combustion.

- Good durability: Its flame-retardant properties are long-lasting. After multiple washings, the flame-retardant effect will not decrease significantly. For example, some fibers made by copolymerization with flame-retardant materials can withstand repeated home washing and/or dry cleaning.

- Good comfort: some flame-retardant fabrics have good softness, breathability and skin-friendliness, and are comfortable to wear. For example, when Protex flame-retardant fibers are combined with other natural fibers or cellulose fibers, they can give clothing better skin-friendliness and comfort.

Main uses

- Protective clothing: widely used in firefighters' firefighting uniforms, command uniforms, work clothes in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and other industries, as well as arc-proof clothing, racing suits, etc., to provide reliable safety protection for workers and reduce the risk of fire or high temperature injuries at work.
