Polyacrylonitrile-based pre-oxidized fiber, also called PAN pre-oxidized fiber, is a high-performance fiber material made by oxidizing polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor.


The preparation process is to pre-oxidize the PAN precursor under a specific temperature range (200-300°C) to make the fiber molecular chain dense and ordered, and produce a new order structure that gradually stabilizes.


Polyacrylonitrile-based pre-oxidized fiber has the characteristics of high strength, large specific modulus, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, etc., and its thermal stability is particularly outstanding. It does not burn or melt when exposed to heat or fire. It also has good spinnability and can be used for spinning, weaving and needle stitching.


In terms of application, it can be used as a heat-resistant and flame-retardant material for the production of building insulation materials, fireproof insulation materials, high-temperature furnace insulation materials, etc. It can also be used to manufacture protective textiles such as thermal insulation protective clothing, fireproof clothing, and fire blankets. It can also be used in the fields of flame-retardant insulation materials for vehicle engines, energy storage batteries, etc. .


12k polyacrylonitrile-based pre-oxidized yarn has the following characteristics:


- Good mechanical properties: It has high strength and modulus, is not easy to break and deform when subjected to external force, and can meet the requirements of material strength in various application scenarios.


- Excellent thermal stability: It can maintain stable performance in high temperature environment, will not burn or melt when exposed to heat or fire, and has a high limiting oxygen index. For example, the maximum limiting oxygen index value of Shanghai Petrochemical's products is greater than 45%, which has good fire resistance and can be used to manufacture fireproof insulation materials, etc.


- Good thermal insulation performance: It has low thermal conductivity and can effectively block heat transfer. It can be used to produce building insulation materials, high-temperature furnace insulation materials, etc.


- Strong chemical stability: It has good tolerance to most chemical substances, is not easy to be corroded, and can be used in a variety of chemical environments.


- Good spinnability: It can be used for spinning, weaving, needle punching, sewing and other textile processing, and can be used to manufacture a variety of protective textiles, such as thermal insulation protective clothing, fireproof clothing, fire blankets, etc.


- Low conductivity: It is almost non-conductive, mostly used for product insulation, and can be used as a protective cover for wires and cables, etc.
